self care starts now
What is Thai Bodywork? It’s as if someone was doing yoga to you! The practitioner moves you through yoga-like stretches, applies pressure through palms, forearms, elbows, sometimes even feet.
My approach to Thai bodywork is somatic and meditative, tuning in deeply with the receiver and listening to their body to create a space where they can feel held and safe, come home to themselves, and begin to heal.
“Experiencing Glo's bodywork felt like putting glasses on after years of blurry vision. I hadn't realized before just how much pain I had been carrying in my shoulders, hips, and back, and was amazed how free and loose I felt afterwards. I also experienced an acute sense of attunement to my whole body following our session, so that even smaller areas like my hands and feet felt new to me.
As a first-time client, I appreciated how Glo was able to put me at ease and personalize our session, adjusting technique & intensity in response to my body's tolerance for pain. She is a warm, calming presence and you can tell truly cares about her clients' well-being. I recommend her wholeheartedly! “ - SB
What is Thai Bodywork?
Experience the Healing Art
Originating in Thailand over 2,500 years ago, Thai bodywork is an integral part of Thai healing and wellness traditions. It’s often referred to as “Thai Yoga Massage” because it incorporates elements of yoga postures and stretches, alongside rhythmic massage techniques. This full-body treatment is designed to enhance the flow of energy, release blockages, and promote overall well-being.
What to Expect During Your Session:
Your Thai bodywork session will take place on a comfortable mat, fully clothed. No oils are used, allowing your practitioner to focus on precise pressure points and gentle stretches. The therapist will guide your body through a series of postures, using their hands, elbows, knees, and feet to apply pressure and stretch your muscles.
Benefits:
Stress Reduction: Deep relaxation techniques promote mental clarity, calmness, and emotional balance.
Increased Energy: The unique combination of stretching and acupressure stimulates circulation and invigorates the body.
Pain Relief: Targeted pressure and muscle manipulation can relieve tension, chronic pain, and muscle tightness.
Enhanced Flexibility: Gentle, assisted stretches increase mobility and reduce stiffness.
Better Posture: Regular sessions can help realign the body, reduce misalignments, and improve posture.
